Support Roll Columbia

A decade ago, OCHC chose Roll on Columbia: The Columbia River Collection, a volume edited by Bill Murlin for the BPA, as one of its  Literary Oregon, One Hundred Books, 1800-2000 selection. It was the key feature of the Oregon State Library centennial in 2005.

Now, Oregon Cultural Heritage Commission is excited to announce a new collaboration with the Executive Producer team of Joe Seamons and Bill Murlin. The OCHC project Roll Columbia will assist them in producing a recording of the 26-song Columbia River wsong cycle, on the 75th anniversary of Woody Guthrie's most germinal month, as he absorbed the Pacific NW and wrote the songs for the fledgling Bonneville Power Administration in 1941.

As you'll see in the Project Description, the recording features a host of NW talents. The two-CD set will be released this October, and throughout 2016 there will be several entertaining and informational concerts across the region featuring the musicians who are bringing this vital music back to an enthusiastic public.

Please support the Roll Columbia project generously. The entire value of your donation will be tax-deductible, due to OCHC's 501(c)(3) tax status with the IRS. Donate using the PayPal button here, or send a check to OCHC-Roll Columbia, PO Box 3588, Portland, OR 97208-3588. Thanks.
